Harvest Thanksgiving Service

Harvest Thanksgiving Service was held for Pancotto Primary School at the SandHill Zion Methodist Protestant Church on Sunday October 22. The management and staff of the school as well as some of the parents spent Saturday afternoon dressing and preparing the church building for the upcoming event. They did a great job; the church was beautiful. Fruits and vegetables of all color and types, donated by the parents of the students as well as members of the church, were hung from the ceiling, the windows and some were even placed on the floor.

On Sunday the church was filled with parents and other family members who had showed up to enjoy the program prepared by the principal and staff of the school who even had time to practice a song which they shared. It was indeed a great blessing to see all the children dressed up and proudly marching up with their trays of fruits and vegetable giving back to God some of what he had blessed them and their families with. Even though some of them were a bit shy they all managed to get on stage to share the thanksgiving poems they had been taught by their respective teachers.

We were privileged to have Rev. Santiago Shol as the guest speaker and he delivered a thanksgiving message inspired by God. He spoke firmly and clearly about what God expects of us when he gives us blessings. I am sure those present enjoyed his short but sweet sermon.

I must say that it is encouraging to see a school where children are not only taught daily about God but also about how important it is to give thanks to him in words and in kind. Good job management and staff of Pancotto Primary School!!! Our continued prayers are with you as you strive to give these children a good education while sowing seeds of Christ within them.
