Fun, Fun, Fun, Couple's Night!!!

An invitation was personally extended by our pastor and his wife to all the married couples who attend our church to be a part of an evening planned especially for us at their home. All eight couples in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the activities planned for them especially since we got to take a break from our darling children. It began with an ice breaker and was followed by us watching a very entertaining but applicable play called “Why did I Get Married?” which sparked some very interesting discussions afterwards. Of course the night could not go without food and each couple was asked to bring along a dish of their choice which everyone shared after watching the play. Rev. Leal and his wife shared with us that God has been speaking to them about reaching out to the couples within our church and they wanted us to meet as couples on a regular basis to share and have fun together while growing in the Lord as individuals and as couples. Often focus is placed on other ministries within the church with little attention to couples who are the leaders in the homes as well as the church. God has inspired them to change that for our church and they have willingly taken up the challenge. All couples eagerly agreed that this was a much-needed ministry in our church and committed to having Couples’ Night every two months. A schedule was drafted up and each couple will get a turn to host and plan one of these events.

Thank you, Pastor and First Lady, for planning a wonderful evening just for us. As couples in your congregation we want you to know that we really, really, appreciate all your prayers, hard work and dedication to our church, and we pray for God’s continued blessing upon your marriage, your family and your ministry, and know that you can count on us for support!!

Thanks to the couples for supporting this ministry. My Husband and I have learned once again that when God speaks, all we need to do is move. Couples of the SZMPC, we want you all to know that you all are special and you desire nourishment and attention too. Keep praying for us as we pray for you.
