SPIRIT

Go Spirit, go Spirit, go! That’s the cheer of our “Spirit” basketball team’s cheerleaders (just kidding about the cheerleaders not the cheer). Last Saturday was the opening ceremony for the Shine Your Light basketball competition. This is the second year this basketball competition will be held and “Spirit” was there last year also. This competition is specifically for Christian teams and is a fun, family activity. What is different this year is that this time the “Spirit” team is made up of almost 100% Sand Hill Zion Methodist Protestant Church members and attendees. Our 12 member team will be representing our church this year at this competition that will run for approximately two months. Although they did not win last year they won the award for the team with the most Christ-like attitude. This year we expect them to do much better as they have been working out much harder and have some new, younger recruits. Plus for all the time they spend on the court on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays they better bring home some sort of trophy. (Smile)
