Once again we had a Mother’s Day Service that was enjoyed by the mothers present and their families. We had over 50 mothers in attendance and a well-planned program to share with them. Brads, who seems to be the official Mother’s Day worship leader, did a great job. The songs and poems read were all inspiring and it was obvious that the presenters were preparing for this day well ahead of time. We had so many people who had something planned to share that we ran kinda late. This year our Pastor was determined that he would not be robbed of his time so he shared with the congregation 7 Tips for mothers “BEFORE” the mothers were give their gift not after, as was done in past years. Smart thinking Pastor!!
The men gave each mother an umbrella to remind them that they are to cover their families in prayer and love at all times as well as to use it protect them from the impending rain which will come shortly as our rainy season begins in June. Good thinking men! Three cute and unique carved mahogany flowers were also given away to the oldest mother, Mrs. Hyde, the youngest mother, Mrs. Tanya Wade and the mother with the most kids, Mrs. Millie Tyler (she has 10 girls to whom she is a mother at her
all-girls children home in addition to her other three kids). Once again our Men’s Group did their thing. Our prayers are being answered as we can see them now stepping up more and more to be a part of God’s work. Pretty soon they may be as active as the Ladies Group. While that may not be in the very near future, it’s always good to dream. (smile)
