National Sunday 2008
This was by far the most enjoyable and colorful National Sunday we have had so far. The entire service was dedicated to honoring our country and each of the Sunday School classes had something to share. There was singing, reciting of poems and the youths did a Creole skit which was written by our very own Tanya Wade and acted out by her youth class. This skit was very entertaining but the message of “independence from sin through Jesus Christ” was not lost amidst all the laughter. Not to be outdone Ms. Alice’s adult class also came out with an original creation. She had asked them to come to the service dressed to represent the different nationalities of Belize and they all sang heal the world for the congregation. The three Baymen (Mr. Jimmy, Joe and Vernon) with their paddles and axes were the stars of that class. Our well-missed pastor delivered his message as only he can and afterwards encouraged us to take the afternoon off to spend with our families celebrating our country’s independence as well as our independence from sin.
